The Rensselaerville Institute

The first site we have selected is located 27 miles southwest of Albany, New York. The Rensselaerville Institute Conference Center is a secluded, discreet, and secure conference center and retreat with 55 guestrooms located on a manicured 100-acre estate and is adjacent to the Huyck Nature Preserve with its lake, pond, river, and waterfalls. The location offers participants and their families a peaceful and healing environment to facilitate a smooth transition back to family life and work in solitude and respite.

Preventative educational programs to strengthen family functioning will be offered to provide:

Counseling and education for the participant and their families
Counseling and education for the participant to connect with each other
Specific education on PTSD and potential problems, such as suicidal tendencies, depression, anxiety, and relationship and family issues
Education about addictions, including the relationship between alcohol/substance abuse and traumatic stress reactions
Wilderness/outdoor programs and activities, including, but not limited to, hiking, swimming, nature walks, canoeing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing
Complementary therapies, including, but not limited to Reiki, Thought Field Therapy, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, nutritional counseling, art and music therapies
Multi-cultural spiritual counseling, including ceremony and rites of passages

Odyssey Quest, Inc. has established a strategic partnership with The Rensselaerville Institute to assist us in program development, including a pilot program, and staff development and training.

Odyssey Quest, Inc., is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that offers holistic and integrative health care interventions, multi-cultural spiritual counseling, clinical services, and preventative educational strategies to individuals and families through educational programs and conferences, wellness programs, consulting services, training workshops, community forums and discussion groups.
